Dr. Di Marcantonio received a University Degree in Economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2005 and Master in econometrics from the University of Roma, “Tor Vergata” in 2007. In 2012 she got her Ph.D. in Socio-Economic and Statistical Studies from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. During her Ph.D. she has acquired significant and progressive experiences by collaborating with international organization such as ASTI-IFPRI and FAO.
After completion of her PhD she was appointed as Grantholder at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission based in Ispra, where she mainly worked on issues related to food security in developing countries. In January 2017 she joined the Economic of Agriculture department of the JRC in Seville, where she is currently working as Scientific Project Officer on value chain analysis and related aspects in EU. Her interests are focused on socio-economic analysis related to poverty and development as well as market functioning and transparency.
